Steven graduated from Gahr high school in Cerritos in 2006 before going to Cerritos college to play soccer. He played two seasons at Cerritos college as a goalkeeper. He would later attend Fremont college where he received his AS in sports rehabilitation and massage therapy and also received his CAMTC licensure for massage therapy in 2012. Once he graduated from Fremont, he received an scholarship to play soccer at Concordia university Irvine where he would finish his college career and later graduate with a BS in Exercise and Sports Science with an emphasis in Athletic training.
